Can you convert my Japanese import stereo to English?
On many models, yes. Some factory units can be converted to English menus and voice, while others are better replaced with a modern CarPlay and Android Auto unit. Send us your make, model and year and we will tell you which applies.
Is it better to convert or replace the unit?
If you want current maps, a touchscreen and phone integration, replacing the Japanese unit with a wireless CarPlay and Android Auto head unit is usually the better value. If you want to keep the factory look, a language conversion may be the answer where it is supported.
Will my reverse camera still work after conversion?
In most cases yes. Where your import came with a factory reverse camera, we keep it working on the converted or replacement system.
Does the radio need retuning for New Zealand?
Japanese cars use a different FM band spacing, so imports often miss NZ stations. We make sure the radio is set up to receive New Zealand stations properly.
