Nissan Note Stereo Upgrade: CarPlay, English and the Radio Code
Most Nissan Notes on NZ roads, including the popular e-Power hybrid, are Japanese imports that arrive with a Japanese radio or navigation unit. The dash takes a double DIN unit with a Nissan fascia kit, so a wireless CarPlay and Android Auto head unit is a tidy swap. The reversing camera, or the Around View Monitor where fitted, can be kept with the right camera adapter.
What fits
A double DIN head unit with a Nissan fascia kit. Our Nissan Note page has the fitting details, and the stereo fit checker covers other Nissan models.
Stereo code or locked stereo
Notes often ask for a code after the battery is disconnected, and some show a message telling you to wait before trying again. Do not guess the code. See what to do when the radio asks for a code.
English menus and NZ radio
Most factory units stay in Japanese and miss part of the NZ FM dial. A new head unit fixes both. See changing a Japanese car radio to English.
Keeping the camera and controls
The Around View Monitor or reversing camera needs the correct adapter to show on a new screen, and a steering control interface keeps the wheel buttons working. See steering wheel control interfaces.
