For a daily driver, a compact powered subwoofer under a seat adds bass and keeps the boot free. For more output, a boxed subwoofer in the boot with a mono amplifier goes deeper and louder. We also fit multi-channel amplifiers to drive upgraded door speakers.
Every amplifier is wired with a power cable sized for it, fused close to the battery, earthed to bare chassis metal and run away from the signal leads to keep out engine whine. If you keep your factory stereo, we connect through its speaker outputs, so you do not need a new head unit to add a sub. Very large builds with several amplifiers or custom enclosures are workshop jobs, and we will tell you if yours is one.

Questions, answered
Can you add a subwoofer to my factory stereo?
Usually yes. Most powered subwoofers and amplifiers accept the speaker-level signal from a factory stereo, or we add a line output converter. You do not need to replace the head unit to add bass.
Is an under-seat subwoofer worth it?
For a daily driver, yes. It adds the bass door speakers cannot reach and keeps the boot free. It will not be as loud or as deep as a boxed sub in the boot, so we help you pick the one that suits how you listen.
Do I need an amplifier for a subwoofer?
A powered (active) subwoofer has its amplifier built in. A passive subwoofer needs a separate mono amplifier. We match the amplifier to the sub so neither is overworked.
What size amp wiring kit do I need?
It depends on how much current the amplifier draws and how long the power run is. We size the cable and fuse to the amplifier, and supply the wiring kit as part of the install.
Will a subwoofer drain my battery?
Not when it is wired correctly. The amplifier turns on and off with the stereo through a remote turn-on lead, so it draws nothing worth noting while the car is off.
