Toyota Corolla CarPlay: Does Yours Have It and How to Add It

Whether a Toyota Corolla has CarPlay depends on whether it was imported from Japan or sold new in NZ, and on its age. Imported Corollas, including the Fielder wagon and the Axio sedan, usually have a Japanese radio or navigation unit with no CarPlay, and take a double DIN CarPlay and Android Auto head unit with English menus. Newer NZ-new Corollas have a factory touchscreen instead.

How to check yours

• Japanese menus or a Japanese satnav: an import with no CarPlay. A new head unit is the fix.
• A factory touchscreen with English menus: look for a CarPlay icon, or a CarPlay or smartphone option in the settings, with your iPhone plugged in.

Imported Corolla, Fielder and Axio

Newer NZ-new Corollas
