Atlia Head Units Compared: Which One Suits Your Car?

19 October 2026

We fit the Atlia range of head units, and the right one depends on how you use the car. The AT-LX09 is a 7 inch unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on a fast, simple Linux system, and suits most drivers. The AT-509CP and AT-9508CP have a 9 inch screen and run Android, with built-in Wi-Fi and GPS for apps and maps without a phone. The AT-BT04 is a 7 inch unit with wired CarPlay and Android Auto. We confirm which one fits your dash before you book.

How we compare them

We look at the things that matter once the unit is in the car: how your phone connects (wireless or wired), the screen size and whether it suits your dash, the system it runs (a simple Linux system that starts quickly, or Android with its own apps), camera support, and steering wheel control support. Specs below come from the supplier's product details, last checked in October 2026.

  • Sound and cameras: 45W x 4 output, a customisable equaliser, front, rear and subwoofer pre-amp outputs, and front and rear camera inputs.
  • Worth knowing: no built-in apps or Wi-Fi of its own. Maps and music come from your phone.

  • Screen and phone: 7 inch capacitive touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Bluetooth 5.0.
  • Controls: a physical volume roller, handy while driving.

  • Screen and system: 9 inch HD touchscreen, a quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB storage.
  • Phone and maps: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, built-in Wi-Fi, and GPS with online and offline maps.

  • Worth knowing: fitted with a vehicle-specific fitting kit so the larger screen sits properly in the dash.

Linux or Android?

The Linux units (AT-LX09 and AT-BT04) are simple and quick, and everything comes from your phone. The Android units (AT-501CP, AT-509CP and AT-9508CP) can also run apps and maps on their own. Our guide to Android head units vs CarPlay head units explains the trade-off.

What every install includes

Whichever unit you choose, we fit it with the right fascia kit and wiring harness, keep your steering wheel controls with an interface where needed, and connect or add a reverse camera. Some cars need an extra CAN bus module, which we confirm in the quote. See the stereo fit checker, steering wheel control interfaces and head unit installation.
